Serena & Jake

In the backyard of the home where Jake grew up on a bright October morning, he and Serena got married.

Jake's mom made the decorations, Serena picked out her perfect dress, and Jake and his dad built the rustic wedding arch. With Jake's uncle officiating the celebration and surrounded by their dear friends and family, Jake and Serena said I do.

His grandparents snapped away with their cellphones, which no one at all minded while we all (me included) wiped away tears while they recited their handwritten vows to each other.

With their DIY touches, his dad's old truck pulled on the lawn, photos picked and pinned on reused pallets of the bride and groom growing up... It was a perfect casual ceremony followed by family photos and a big meal and party, catered by Jake's aunt.
