prairie's edge wedding in kuna, idaho

Prairie’s Edge is a very picturesque wedding venue on the outskirts of Kuna, Idaho. The city of Kuna is a just short drive from Boise, really just a bordering town. Kuna has been up and coming for awhile but the last few years has seen lots of growth. The first time I drove to Prairie’s Edge I expected it to be closer to the city center, but the more I drove I figured out that it’s in the rural part of West Kuna, closer to South Boise. You even drive on a short dirt road to get to the venue.

One of the main features of this wedding venue is a huge beautiful barn that was built just a few years ago. The property has a clear view of the sunset (you can see the horizon line) makes it a wonderful spot for after the ceremony photos.

I’ve photographed here multiple times and I can definitely say the barn and venue is plenty big enough to fit a large number of guests (the barn is nearly 5,000 sq feet!) And it's so beautiful at night when the wide barn doors are opened and the string lights are shining. It’s a gorgeous atmosphere for your Idaho wedding.

Some things to know:

  • There are chairs and tables provided so no need to call the rental place! One less call you have to make!
  • If you’re planning on sunset photos, there are some houses and farms directly west of the venue, but there are a line of trees and foliage that let the beautiful light in while blocking some of the neighbors. I’ve never had a problem with things in the background when I do this!
  • check with your DJ about any kind of noise guidelines- there are some noise guidelines for this venue, make sure you’re all sorted and know the rules!
  • There’s a huuuugee field/ open space attached to the venue that looks north east to the mountains. This is stunning if you’re looking for a spot to take some pics there. One suggestion- the way to get there is to go across the dirt road and into open fields so I would definitely recommend not wearing white heels! Maybe bring a pair to change into while walking across it but look out for gopher holes.
  • It can get windier in Kuna than the rest of the valley! Don’t be surprised if it’s breezy and a little cooler there. I always make sure to bring a coat and a hair tie to hold my hair back.
  • the barn is really big! They are permitted for 300 people there so I would recommend if you have a wedding that is under 100 guests to group the tables during the reception close together to get everyone in the photos.
  • They have top notch bridal suites, kitchen area, and bathrooms. Plenty of room for large bridal parties and catering. And a bonus you don’t see all the time- there’s a bathroom connected to the bridal suite! Yay!
  • The owners are very responsive and accommodating. I’ve never heard anything but great things about booking there and how easy they are to work with.
